This is specifically about the United States, but may apply to other countries as well. Some examples I would add:

  • You don’t have to be familiar with another faith’s scripture in order to “get” the allusions and references in the literature taught in high school English classes.
  • Your faith is used in advertisements and common parlance as a synonym for “good” or “trustworthy.”
  • You don’t have to constantly explain your religious beliefs, rituals, and holidays to others—and when you do explain, you don’t hear your faith and practices called “weird,” “exotic,” or “barbaric” in response.

I wish I could hang this up on my cubicle at work.

I totally agree with all of this…felt it my whole life (as not having such privilege, I am an atheist).
